Name: Space Earwig
Created in: 2006
Size: 7 in. x 8 in.
Media: Prismacolor marker, gouache, and ink on bristol board
Details: I will grant you that a space earwig does not in any way resemble an Earth-based earwig. Mostly I was calling it "earwig" to upset my mother (I drew this while we were manning a booth at an art show together), and kept adding more spines so it would tickle that much more as it wiggled its way down your ear canal. (NB: Earth earwigs don't actually try to crawl into your ears. They do eat other bugs that are pests, though.)
