Mills Pond - Austin, Texas: Birds

You've definitely seen these guys flying around: the turkey vulture, a.k.a. thunderbird, a.k.a. buzzard. These huge birds are carrion feasters who teeter in the sky looking for stinky dead animals. I've seen buzzards up close on several occasions, but never when I have my camera with me. Too bad, since they're pretty fascinating to look at.

There are a great many bird species to be seen by the pond and in the surrounding park. My camera is not good enough to photograph them all clearly, but I have compiled a list of birds I've seen that I am reasonably certain I have correctly identified: List of Birds
