Mills Pond - Austin, Texas: Ducks

And this is my favorite duck at Mills Pond. While she's obviously literally a black duck, she's not technically a black duck, if you follow me. The American black duck as a species tends to be dark brown with a pale brown head and yellow or green bill. She's actually just a mallard mutation, or which there are countless varieties. She's part of a trio that always hangs out together; her two companions are a mallard male and a mallard female, hence my assumption that she's part mallard. Did I say always together?
