More feral mallard variations. The cinnamon-colored duck below I call Squeaky as she has a very odd quack.

The above photo was taken when the brown and white mottled duck still had two, fully-functioning legs. At some point in the fall of 2004 a fishing line got wrapped around her right leg, cutting off the circulation and causing the leg to swell and die. She is, amazingly, still alive and doing well for a one-legged duck. Several birds and turtles who have been killed by littered fishing gear are not so lucky. I don't want to sound preachy, and I know it's only a few inconsiderate fishermen who are causing the problems, but consider this: eventually one of the copious littered fish hooks will lodge in some hapless child whose parents will then sue the park and fishing will be permanently banned at the pond. If you like to fish there but don't care about cleaning up after yourself, at least consider how your actions could cause you to lose your fishing privileges.
