It's pretty rare that the water is clear enough to see through. There are a lot of reasons for this, having to do with the clearness of the reflected sky, activity by ducks, turtles, or fish, and water level. When it is clear, though, you can see some interesting forms down there. In the photo below you can just see a turtle who is diving after jumping off the partially-submerged branch.
