Yes, I really have been that busy lately. But I have been working away on new feeps, as it is once again time for CAPE, hosted by Zeus Comics in Dallas. It's happening Saturday, May 3 (tomorrow!), and is all part of the Free Comic Book Day madness. Admission is free, so come down and say hello!
I really will try to get some new feeps in the sto' after this weekend is over. But did I mention the madness? Well, there's been madness.

Basically, I've been busy with commissions, freelance work, and the new Feep Mini-Coloring Book, which I hope to have ready in time for STAPLE! on March 1. A mere two weeks away! Egads!
In other show news, it looks like I'm going to have to give Con DFW a miss this year due to the aforementioned busyness. I will be back in Dallas in May, though, for CAPE 4. And I'll try to get up there for the Dallas Comic Con in April, but at the moment I'm not sure if it's going to happen. I shall endeavor to keep you apprised.

I've been crazy busy with deadlines lately, hence the light feeping, but I'm hoping to get some more monsters listed in the next couple of weeks.
As you may have already guessed, I will NOT be at the Dallas ComicCon this weekend. Just couldn't fit it into the schedule this time around, but I hope to be back there later in the year. I will be at STAPLE! in March, as per usual, so be sure to put that on your calendars.

Announcements for 12/6/07
Ooops. I have been really bad at remembering to update this page, I guess, if I haven't done it since October. So sorry! For more reliable updates join my email list, or keep an eye on The Daily Monster, where I do try to mention events, as well as on my MySpace blog. Anyway, since my last update here I've been to Wizard World and had a great show, and been to Wheatsville Arts Festival and had a great show. Of course, great shows mean my feep stock is low, but fear not, I am hard at work making new monsters this month. Here are the latest feeps for sale:

This Saturday I'll have a vendor table at The OUTer Film Fest, to be held here in Austin at the Austin Film Studios (1901 E. 51st Street). As the pun of the title may have already suggested to you, this is specifically a festival of gay/lesbian science fiction, fantasy, and horror. Is it all ages? I haven't a clue. Parental discretion and all that, where applicable.
In just a couple of weeks it'll be time once again for Wizard World Texas, which is Nov. 16-18 in Dallas. More about that as the date approaches.

Announcements for 10/8/07
Several announcements to announce. First of all, I'm sorry to say the Stash has closed permanently. You can still find feeps for retail sale in Austin at Sparks Cards & Gifts on 6th street, but no longer in South Austin, at least for now. I've listed the remaining Stash stock in the eBay store:

This batch includes figurines of all types, necklaces, and the first couple of 2007 Orneryments. I know, it's not even Halloween yet and I'm starting in with the xmas stuff, but that's the world of retail for you.
On to shows. I'm in two art shows here in Austin this month, the first of which is the Halloween group show at Amy's Ice Cream on 6th street. That'll be up until the end of the month, and there'll be a closing reception probably the last weekend of October (but I don't know that for sure yet).
Show #2 is the Monster Mash show at the Lowbrow Emporium in South Austin, and will run from Oct. 13 - Nov. 30. We're having an opening reception this very Saturday, Oct. 13th, from 7:00 - 11:00, and you're all invited to come and hang out. I'm working on a brand-new piece for this show, and am planning to have the shadow boxes up for display as well. Location info for both these events can be discovered over on my Events Page.

is the location of my latest retail feep adventure. They've now got a
selection of several different feep figurines and necklaces, so you

Next week I'm going to do something unprecedented: I'm going to take a vacation! Specifically, I'm going on a road trip, and my plan is to take a few feeps along and do a Daily Monster on the Road sort of thing. I do not yet know if I'll update in real time or if I'll have to do it ex post facto (I have no idea what my internet access is going to be like), but I'm certainly hoping for real time. We'll see.
I do want to try to get in one more round of feep store updates before I go. To that end, I must away to feep!

Just to reiterate: the Etsy store is not going to replace the eBay store. I'm running it to have something that will be up all the time (the eBay store goes offline when I'm at a show), and to introduce the feeps to a marketplace that's specifically geared towards handmade stuff. My plan is to have a small selection of figs there, maybe 10 or so, just to give people who use Etsy but not eBay an idea of what I'm doing.
I'm hoping this will also provide an online feep-buying avenue for people who just don't like to use eBay. We shall see how that goes!

Announcements for 8/26/07
As mentioned previously, I have been at work on putting together an Etsy store for the Feeps, and you can see the current incarnation of it here:

It's fairly bare-bones at the moment and a lot of the original art will be stuff I also have listed in the eBay store. The trouble I've been having is that I don't take a lot of these pieces to conventions (mainly to avoid unneccesary wear and tear) so they need a bit more exposure online to help them sell. Since Etsy is focused almost entirely on original or small-run works, it's a good place to showcase some of my more expensive art.
I do plan on keeping some smaller, easily-affordable things on Etsy as well, including reproduced things like iron-ons and magnets, stuff I don't have to worry about double-selling if I'm at a show. In the next couple of weeks I'm also going to put a small selection of figurines in the Etsy store, entirely different from the eBay stock, just so people who don't like shopping on eBay or who are finding out about me for the first time through Etsy will have something to look at (and, hopefully, buy).
I'm working on another eBay store restock as well, so I'm expecting to be listing a lot of new figurines this week. I shall, obviously, keep you apprised as to developments.

Sales were really good at ArmadilloCon, which meant a depletion of the ol' feep stock (not complaining, mind). And now I begin the restock, with new figurines, necklaces, and t-shirts in the sto':

Eventually, hopefully within a couple of weeks, I plan to put up an Etsy store as a way to make it easier for people to order commissioned figurines, magnets, and shirts. So it won't be representative of my current actual feep stock, that'll still be what the eBay store is for, but rather will have sample photos and prices. Anyway, more about that once I get around to putting it together.

ArmadilloCon is this weekend, so if you're a fan of sci-fi/fantasy literature and art you should check it out. I'll be there all weekend manning my table in the dealer's room. As per usual when I'm at a convention, the eBay store will be offline so I don't accidentally double-sell any feeps. You'll still be able to buy feeps from my retailers, of course, but if anything in the eBay store is calling to you, you might want to snag it before Friday morning rolls around.

Second, I'm going to be in a group art show at The Stash, and the opening reception is going to be this Thursday, August 2, from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm. The theme is Nocturnal Frenzy, so if you like crepuscular creatures you should definitely check it out. The show will be up for the month of August.
Third, ArmadilloCon approaches! I'll have a table in the dealer's room of this literary sci-fi/fantasy convention, as per the last couple of ArmadilloCons. If you're into sci-fi and fantasy books, you should definitely check it out, and buy some feeps while you're there.
